Our History
During the 2020 Covid pandemic lockdown, businesses were closed and many families and individuals lost their livelihoods. There was a great need for assistance among the lower B40 families for day to day living necessities. During this time, a small group of individuals who were moved to raise funds to finance and distribute provisions to as many families as they could manage. In addition, when the schools were closed, another obvious need became evident. During the lockdown, education went online, which gave rise to the need for computers in the homes. At a t ime when parents were struggling to put food on the table and pay utilities, laptops were just wishful thinking. Consequently, what began as a food aid program grew to include the distribution of computers to needy students to continue their education. It is a great joy, to see the recipient of a laptop graduate from college and join society as a contributing member, and assisting to support her family. And so, the work that began as a small endeavor of a few individuals has grown to become what is today known as ELEVATE (Pertubuhan Elevasi). The scope of assistance given is no longer limited to just provisions and laptops but to other areas of need in fulfilling our mission of uplifting the lives and dignity of people around us, near or far. For that we invite you to participate with us, by contributing to out work in cash or kind or just spreading the word about us to others who would like to participate in what we are doing.
